For now if you want to get the latest version of our tool bar, you will need to uninstall your current version by going to Preferences, then clicking on Extensions tab, select the extension on the left pane and click Uninstall. If Safari asks confirmation to remove extension click Uninstall again.
After that, you can return to this page and click on Install Now.

If you have uninstalled your Google Tool Bar extension and still have the Google News appearing you can fix that by cleaning you cache.
Go to Safari and click on Empty Cache.

To change your preferences settings, click on Safari, Preferences, Google Tool Bar, and simply check or uncheck the buttons you want to be displayed at the tool bar.
You settings are automatically saved when you exit the extension's panel.

You can modify your computer's SafeSearch settings by clicking on Search settings at the top right of the Google homepage.
